Firmware Update Landing on July 18th

A new firmware update for Spektrum Receivers and Transmitters will be available July 18th. This new firmware update adds the latest in Spektrum RC Flight Stabilization, new programming features and options, and our new Smart Transmitter File Downloads.

This firmware update is available for the following Spektrum Receivers and Transmitters:

Air Receivers:

SPMAR630 – AR630 6-Channel AS3X / SAFE Receiver
SPMAR631 – AR631 6-Channel AS3X / SAFE Receiver
SPMAR637TA – AR637TA 6-Channel AS3X / SAFE Telemetry Receiver (Receiver is included in BNF Aircraft)
SPMAR637T – AR637T 6-Channel AS3X / SAFE Telemetry Receiver
SPMAR8360T – AR8360T 8-Channel AS3X / SAFE Telemetry Receiver
SPMAR10360T – AR10360T 10-Channel AS3X / SAFE Telemetry Receiver

Below we look at some of the different new innovations and features added to the Spektrum Air Stabilized Receivers.

AS3X+ Flight Stabilization

So far AS3X+ has only been included with the 20-Channel PowerSafe Receiver and Synapse Flight Stabilization Module (SPMAR20410TS). With this firmware update, you can get the ultimate locked-in feel of AS3X+; but now in lower channel count receivers such as the 6, 8, and 10 channel Spektrum stabilized receivers (refer to the full list of receivers above). The all-new AS3X+ stabilization algorithm creates better flight performance, improves sensor accuracy and data rate, and provides pilots with a generationally different feel compared to AS3X. AS3X+ new parameters and new menus with intuitive forward programming makes it the easiest system to set up and program. It features a vastly improved stabilization algorithm that has been rigorously tested by experts throughout the hobby.

Smart Transmitter File Downloads

Smart Transmitter Files is a new feature available on Spektrum stabilized receivers that makes transmitter programming the easiest it has ever been. Instead of manually programming your transmitter from the aircraft product manual, or locating and downloading the model file online, STF eliminates the process of programming and gets you in the air faster and with more success. Once the STF download unique items specific to each model will be automatically configured in your transmitter. Features like switch and channel assignments, rates, expo, voice assignment, telemetry and other programming parameters will be saved and active in your transmitter.

To get the benefits of AS3X+ and Smart Transmitter File Transfer (STF), there is also a firmware update for NX and iX Transmitters. See below a list of a few of the new features and improvements.

X-Plus Enable field was removed from the Frame Rate screen. X-plus visibility is now controlled by the monitor channel count selected in the Model Details screen for a given model
