This unit is a Flight Controller, it needs a separate receiver to function (SPMC). This FC does have SAFE mode programmed already, suited specifically to the Habu STS EDF Jet.

The Habu STS Flight Controller requires the Spektrum 4650C receiver, it won't function with the standard receiver (AR620) that came with your DX6e. https://www.horizonhobby.com/product/srxl2-dsmx-receiver-with-connector-installed/SPM4650C.html

Yes the Habu STS flight controller incorporates SAFE technology, however it is not optional like SAFE Select. Experienced mode (AS3X only) would be the equivalent of SAFE off.

Yes, you can fly the Habu with the AR620. The AR620 does not offer AS3X/SAFE. If you have flown edf jets without it before, the AR620 may be a great choice.
