What does the SLT â DSMR firmware update do?
Although Spektrum DSMR is the premier 2.4GHz technology for RC surface models, youâll still find radios using the SLT protocol in some ready-to-run vehicles from ARRMA, Axial, Losi, and other brands. The SLT radio equipment keeps these combo packages as affordable as possible for budget-minded drivers. But many of the vehicles are also hugely popular with experienced hobbyists who want to drive them with their feature-rich Spektrum DSMR transmitters.
With this firmware update, all of the Spektrum DSMR surface radios listed above are compatible with SLT protocol receivers. They become dual protocol transmitters that can bind both to DSMR and SLT equipped vehicles. Spektrum owners will be able to use their compatible DSMR transmitter with many of the hottest RTR vehicles running today â like the Mini-T, Mini-B, and NASCAR RC Race Cars from Losi; ARRMA GROM small-scale bashers; and Axial SCX24 platform micro crawlers.
If your RTR has special features like DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) or 1/24 scale 4WS, they will continue to be available with a compatible Spektrum DSMR transmitter and the firmware update.
Advantages of Spektrum DSMR programmable transmitters
If youâre currently driving an RTR using the SLT-only transmitter that came with it, the Spektrum SLT â DSMR firmware update means you can upgrade to a programmable Spektrum DSMR transmitter and use it to run your present vehicle â plus any others you may own in the future.
