Whether you're a low-time pilot looking for your next airplane after learning to fly with a trainer, or an experienced pilot interested in an ultra-micro sized version of the incredibly popular Conscendo Evolution 1.5m, the E-flite UMX Conscendo is an easy and extremely fun to fly sport aerobatic motor glider that offers a flying experience you simply can't get with any other model! With a 2S LiPo battery, the factory-installed brushless power system - featuring a telemetry-capable ESC, specially-tuned outrunner motor, and folding prop - delivers plenty of thrust for fast climbs to soaring altitude, sport flying, and basic aerobatics. Or, when using a 3S 300mAh battery, it delivers even more speed and thrust for unlimited vertical performance without the need for modifications or upgrades! The composite-reinforced airframe has the strength and stiffness to handle anything experienced pilots will want to do with all that power, performance, and full 4-channel control. Already own a Spektrum™ transmitter? Bind-N-Fly (BNF) aircraft make getting into the air quickly and with the best control experience possible easier than ever. They come out of the box with the power system, servos and a Spektrum 2.4GHz receiver installed so all you need to do is bind the receiver to a compatible transmitter, finish any final assembly and fly!
This Bind-N-Fly Basic model is equipped with a Spektrum 2.4GHz DSMX® receiver featuring AS3X® (Artificial Stabilization–3-aXis) technology that works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence so you enjoy a sense of stability and precision that makes it feel like you're flying a much larger, expertly tuned aircraft.
If this is your first model of its type, or you want an extra margin of safety while familiarizing yourself with the airplane, you can enable the optional-use SAFE® Select flight envelope protection technology built into the receiver. No programming is required.
With SAFE Select enabled, you get:
Pitch and Bank Angle Limits
- These envelope limits keep the airplane from rolling or pitching upside down. They also prevent excessive climb or dive angles.
Automatic Self-Leveling
- The airplane instantly returns to and holds level flight when the sticks are released and in the center position. It's also helpful for keeping the wings level during takeoffs/launches and landings.
Easy Switch Assignment—No Complex Programming Required
- The simple procedure for assigning a transmitter switch to turn SAFE Select features on and off doesn't require any complex programming and takes just a few seconds. For UMX models like this one, SAFE Select is automatically assigned to channel 5 (Gear) so you can turn it on and off with any switch assigned to that channel (switch A by default on most Spektrum computer transmitters).

Optional-use SAFE Select offers pitch and bank angle limits along with automatic self-leveling that can be turned on and off at the flip of a switch to make easier to fly!
Telemetry Capable
The UMX Conscendo is equipped with a control unit that includes an ESC and Spektrum receiver that provides real-time flight battery voltage telemetry to compatible Spektrum AirWare™ equipped transmitters (including the DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/3 and 8 G2, the DX9, NX6 to 20, iX12 to 20 and others) while you fly.
Higher Performance
The factory-installed brushless outrunner motor is specially-tuned to deliver an abundance of thrust with 2S 280-300mAh batteries (a suitable JST-RCY to JST-PH adapter may be required), or more speed and unlimited vertical performance with 3S 300mAh batteries without the need for any modifications or upgrades.
Uniquely Capable
Construction with composite-reinforced EPS results in a lightweight yet stiff and durable airframe. This means the UMX Conscendo can handle high speeds and high energy aerobatics - yet is still light enough to deliver excellent soaring and sport flying performance, plus long flight times up to 15+ minutes with a mix of power on and power off flying. You can even enable the optional-use flaperons and spoilerons for added capabilities!

Yes
Yes, the receiver is compatible with both DSM2 and DSMX protocols. But DSM2 is not the best protocol to use in today's busier RF environments where there is far more 2.4GHz noise and channel collision potential. It will work in some areas where there is little population or 2.4GHz activity, but DSMX is better in more populated and higher 2.4GHz activity areas (because it also frequency hops, unlike DSM2 that is "locked" on specific channels other 24GHz devices may hop on to).
Motor RPM will show but altitude will not (on all compatible Spektrum AirWare equipped transmitters).
The ESC in the UMX Conscendo is fitted with a JST-RCY connector to suit commonly available 2S and 3S batteries with the RCY plug.
An adapter is only needed if using batteries with JST-PH plugs.
An extensions is not available be we made the wire leads as long as we could without causing issues with wing fit.
